We gathered again at OXO The Factory, inviting Bali's developers, designers, and impact entrepreneurs to explore regeneration—not just construction. This session centered on two leaders shaping meaningful change in waste-to-resource systems, eco-building consultancy and sustainable property investment.

Hosted at OXO The Factory, the HQ of leading design & development group OXO Real Estate, the event spotlighted two solution-oriented innovators in Regenerative Land Use & Sustainable Real Estate:

Guest Speakers:

Lennart Heitzhausen :

Co-founder, Jiwa Community Garden 🌱

Community integration and eco-conscious real estate

Lennart, community liaison co-founder, shared how Jiwa transformed 4,500 m² of unused land in Canggu into a permaculture hub combining composting, market gardens, fruit trees, and educational programming. Jiwa’s mission: empowering local and foreign resident communities through regenerative agriculture, composting up to 30+ tons of organic matter per month, and inclusive Open gardening sessions and workshops at minimal or no cost.

Lennart underscored how composting transforms Bali’s food‑waste problem into fertile soil and community capital. To increase access to green building resources, manpower and expertise, supporting Jiwa by way of Memberships as outlined above safeguards this last remaining green oasis in Canggu, that functions as a cultural hub and learning centre for the young and old, for generations to come.

Terje Nilsen :

Founder, Seven Stones 🧱

Business compliance for a more sustainable Bali

Terje, co-founder and director, brought real‑estate expertise rooted in sustainability. He emphasized Seven Stones’ philosophy: “do good, then do well”—prioritizing eco-conscious and socially sustainable real estate and tourism projects in Bali. He highlights Seven Stones’ stewardship of Alassari Plantation, a nature-integrated eco-resort in Tabanan, reinforcing quality over mass tourism, cultural preservation, and environmental stewardship

Terje also outlined their plans for the Natha Loka Eco Village, a retreat designed around Tri Hita Karana principles in West Bali. Contact Terje here.

Why It Matters:

In an island facing both overtourism and environmental degradation, this session illustrated how regeneration can be profitable and accessible. From Jiwa’s community-powered compost-to-food cycles, to Seven Stones’ strategic eco-developments, the conversation moved beyond token gestures to scalable impact.

  • Jiwa Garden transforms waste into ecological AND educational value, serving the community and soil regeneration.

  • Seven Stones exemplifies how purposeful tourism and real estate can reinforce cultural values and environmental integrity -- while saving the headache of taking shortcuts in doing business in Indonesia.

🧱 A heartfelt thank you to all participants—changemakers, curious minds, and forward-thinking professionals—who joined us over coffee to share ideas and build momentum for regenerative land use and property development done more sustainably, in Bali. Especially Erik, Niko, Chris and Frauke.
